Tomoko Mack will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor, K.478, while Kazimierz Brzozowski will present Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25.

Between the two quartets, the pianists will perform Maurice Ravel’s Spanish Rhapsody together. The program offers a journey through different approaches to the relationship between piano and chamber music writing across various eras, musical languages, and artistic sensibilities.

Mozart’s quartet, composed in 1785, combines the formal balance typical of Mozart’s Classical style with an unusual dramatic tension, often associated with a deeper and more restless emotional world.

With Ravel’s Spanish Rhapsody of 1907, the program moves into a completely different sound world, rich in color, Iberian influences, and refined tonal effects, where color itself becomes a structural element of the musical language.

The concert concludes with Brahms’ quartet, composed in 1861, one of the great chamber music works of the Romantic nineteenth century, combining contrapuntal richness, melodic momentum, and powerful dramatic tension.

Musica classica
